AMD Ready To Strike Back on Intel with K8L Rev. H! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Everybody!
After the Launch of Core 2 Duo last year, Intel had regained their top position in microprocessors Area again and lead to the decline of AMD dominance in Desktop as well as in servers market which lasted for 2-3 years.  Also the first quad core "Kentsfield" Intel had launched is currently the fastest deaktop processor available, which was some time back the place of AMD FX series processors!  But it is predicted that AMD's first native Quad Core ( Kentsfield was just double dual core where 2 "core 2 duo's" were pasted on 1 die) code named "K8L Rev. H" would have a 40% performance gain as against Intel counterparts (See http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=5863) ! This chip might soon be available in next 3-4 months as AMD took time to shift to 65nm Fabrication Process and this would be Second AMD 65nm Processor Series apart from "Brisbane" chips featuring Athlon 64 X2 5000+ etc.! So, we might hope that AMD will strike again and give tough competation to Intel! For more details check out :- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_K8L . Any replies, comments or queries are Welcome!
