Virus attacking my Hotmail account RRS feed

    I got a virus a month or so ago which atacked my email acound and sent emails out to everyone on my list.  It slipped right through the firewall which was on and the virus protection software.  I ran the full manual scan and did isolate a virus later and deleteted it.  However a week later another email was dispatched.  This time though when I ran a scan, no virus shows up.  Again now this week another email batch has been sent out and a scan shows no virus.  My friends are getting really pissed off.  There dosen't seem to be any other major dis-functions with my laptop.  What do I do.

    Some malware can copy your address book or contact list. Other than changing your e-mail address and asking your friends to add your current e-mail address to their blocked senders list I don't think there's much else you can do.

    Most likely not. With your contact list and your e-mail address spoofed it can be sent from anywhere.

    I just checked my sent mail and the email blast both this week and the week before came from my laptop.
