Project Server 2010 Custom Field Mapping with Active Directory RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have a situation where we need custom fields within Project Server 2010 to be mapped with Active Directory attributes. We did our research and found this Project Server 2007 resource sync utility http://ps2007adressync.codeplex.com/ (which was supposed to work on Project Server 2010). When we installed (ResourceSync utility) on 2010 server following error was displayed within the event logs "Invalid operant after efast2" and nothing gets updated. We did make all the changes as stated within the ResourceSync utility document.

Now the questions I have are:

    1. How can we sync/map AD attributes with Project Server custom fields?
    2. Where is the list of Project Server 2010 custom fields?

    Thank you,

  • Hi Binn22--

We had a similar requirement from a client & I used the TPG's resource link tool & which works in a similar way. You can sync the AD users to PWA users with Custom field from PWA will be updated when you have mapping to AD Fields.

You will need to have the Custom fields from AD (which AD Administartor may provide), Based on that you can create Resource level custom fields & when you wrire the utility to update the resource data, You will need to have the code to get the AD User's data with CF & update in Project server using PSI.

All Custom fields can be see in "http://Servername/pwa/_layouts/pwa/Admin/CustomizeFields.aspx"
