Apparently, you had a trial version of Microsoft Office installed.  You'll need to purchase a license for Microsoft Office in order to continue the use of the program.

How to convert a trial version of a 2007 Office suite or program to a full retail perpetual license version:

  • yes trial was installed but when laptop was shipped it came with a disk box with a product code in it. I did everything you had and even when I try to convert to full version it still says product key incorrect.

    Hello Niffer,

I have been having almost the same problem, i went to MS office here in Pakistan and that is what the answer was.

I bought and Office 2007 Home and Student.

now if YOU have the same office that I have here is what you should do...

Order backup CDs at http://www.microsoft.com/office/backup/ and wait for the cds to arrive when they come there will be four in the bundle take out the CD which has "MS Office 2007 Home and Student" written on it and then install from that CD, DONOT use the cd labeled "MS Office 2007 professional" as i was told MS Office 2007 Home and student is a whole diffrent package (diffrent from all the rest of MS Offices)

Once you install from that CD it will accept your cd key...

PS: I you have office 2007 preinstaled on you computer you will have to uninstall it first
