Question
-
I purchased a windows 7 ultimate key in September from this site: http://www.keyinthebox.net . I activated it and I didn´t have a problem until yesterday when I got a message saying that it was not an original copy. Why could I activate my copy if the key was counterfeit to begin with? It is not the first time I have purchased in that store and i never had a problem before. The report is below. And purchasing they license again doesn´t seem reasonable, specially after reading similar posts.
Thanks
Reinaldo

It is not legally possible to purchase Windows keys without accompanying software - the only legal sellers of Keys accompanied by downloaded Windows is MS itself, and its partner Digital River.Your Key is from a not-for-resale MSDN account. You need to claim an immediate refund from the vendor - do NOT accept the offer of a new key.(all they are trying to do is to get past the 45-day claims window. or avoid you sending the evidence of their crimes to the authorities)
Please read the following stickies.... a lot of it isn't directly relevant to you, since you bought it pre-installed, but it will help in advising what to do next.

The pirates have got VERY good at this over the past few years, as the price of equipment for manufacturing the packages drops, and as factories open in less well-policed countries.

Dear sir, thanks for answering me. As I have been reading, it looks like I was scammed. I posted where I got the key from, so there´s nothing much that I can do now.
