I want to add custom field to the project called "IT Admin" it will refer to a resource.
I want to add this field to a PDP in the "Project Fields" web part. but I dont want to make it Free text box. I want to have browse button just like the "Project Owner" field.
in another words I want to show the "Pick Resource" dialogue.
anyway?

Hi,
Have a look at the Automcomplete solution starter webpart, it allows you to effectively put up a people picker field based on a Project Server security group. The webpart is available is found in the PDP customisations part of the PS 2010 Solution starters (http://archive.msdn.microsoft.com/P2010SolutionStarter/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=5303)
hope this helps,

Hi Karthi,
take the following scenario to understand the "dynamic custom fields" webpart:
Suppose that you have a custom field called "Project Department" it get the data from Lookup table. and you want some other custom fields to be required if the project department is "IT" , and you want other fields to be required if the project department is "HR". in this casae this webpart will help you to do that.
I hope i delivered the idea :)

It's in the PDPCustomisations.zip file. I use the source.zip file, and there is one VS solution in there with a stack of cool customisation, that being one.

Alex, I turned on the feature, personally I liked it , but I dont think its acceptable becuase there will be no consistency in the same page. i.e the project owner will be chosen from a dialog box and the IT admin will be chosen with auto-complete!
I guess I will write my own webpart.
