A/V Conferencing service error. RRS feed

    Hello,

We are having problems on our ocs 2007 enterprise server.  We deployed a consolidated enterprise pool.  When I log into the server and start the OCS manager and expand the enterprise pool section, I see the following server components:

    Front Ends

      |__our FE server (localhost)

    Web Conferencing

      |__our localhost server

    A/V Conferencing

      |__nothing (but there used to be an entry for localhost)

    Web Components

      |__localhost

When I try and start the AV service on localhost it fails and gives me the following errors in the event log:

Any idea what would be causing this?  I know there used to be localhost listed under the A/V Conferencing.  We are in the middle of deploying a separate (consolidated) edge server but I wouldn't know why installing an A/V Edge server would make the A/V role on teh consolidated frontend server disappear.

Also, if I use the start services option from within the admin tool (or setup program), I get an output log file which says:

    Action Action Information Execution Result

    Execute Action       Failure

I've searched and searched and can't figure it out.  Also, the server is "in production" in that we have quite a few users using it on a test basis so I'd rather not have to reload things if possible.  If I do, hopefully I can backup the config/users and restore them to another machine if I have to rebuild it.

    Thanks...

Thanks - I used lcscmd to deactivate and then add/remove programs to remove the av component.  Then just re-ran setup and we are good to go.

    thanks!

  • After desactive, remove av component and resutup, I have the same error. Could you please give me more details.

Failed to start service for the following reasons No corresponding MSFT_SIPMCUSetting for service DN 'CN=LS AV MCU,CN=Microsoft,CN=CDTI00989GLC,CN=Computers,DC=loasid,DC=com'.

  • I also have this same error. And attempted to follow your recommendation...
    However;
    1) The lcscmd tool only allows to deactivate whole package..
    2) You cannot rerun configure server unless the Deploy server option has been complete...
