    i picked up 70-505 first instead of 70-536..would it hurt my chance of passing? should i cancel the exam and take the 70-536 instead??

    I don't believe it will affect your chance of passing as I did the exams back-to-front myself and had no problems. That said, if your knowledge on .Net is no strong, studying and sitting 70-536 assist with learning the basics of .Net.  It all comes down to individual preferences :-
