Automatic Updates

  I'm new here, this is my first visit to this site.  I am experiencing a problem whereby I am finding that my automatic updates are randomly turned off each day.  Fortunately, I am alerted that this is happening and can therefore access the Security Centre and turn them on again.  However, I find they are turned off yet again the next day.  
  
  I have reviewed all the related topics here, but all the links given are either out of date or do not provide any assistance at all!   I am very concerned that I am experiencing some form of malware attack.   Could someone please inform me if there is a definitive answer to this problem, or any help available to assist in resolving it?  Many thanks in advance!
