WHS Media Streaming via remote access - Poor response time RRS feed

    I have a windows media server with 400+ cd of digital music (20 gigs).  When accessing the home server via remote access, once a song is selected for streaming it takes 3-4 minutes for the song to begin playing.  Any suggestions regarding speeding up access time?  Thank you

    My first guess would be this is due to poor / limited upload speed of your broadband connection. Perhaps you should also supply some more information, what media server are you using, is the music stored on the homeserver or on another system, do you also have issues when streaming over you LAN (wired connection)?

    HP EX485 MediaSmart Server series with two 750 G drives.
