    Will Windows Home Server be available as just a software package?

    You can purchase a system builder package from a number of e-tailers, including Amazon and NewEgg. This is the software only. Because it's a system builder package, there is no free support for it from Microsoft. Also, installing Windows Home Server can require a much higher degree of technical proficiency than installing Windows Vista. For most people, I really think the right answer is to purchase a complete hardware software solution such as the HP MediaSmart Server.
