Can't Install Office 2007 H&S on 2nd of two hard drives; Rejects product key RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an HP computer with two hard drives and a dual-boot startup.  Drive #1 is a 32-bit running Windows 7.  Drive #6 is a 64-bit running Windows Vista  (Home Premium).  I bought and downloaded Office 2007 Home and Student edition last month.  I copied the download to a DVD (Image) on a boot disk.  I used that to install Office 2007 on Drive #1.  It worked.  The installation program accepted my Product Key (xxx.) I activated it O. K.  The Product Identification Number of the installed system on Drive #1 is: 81602-911-0239115-68090.

I tried using the same boot DVD after rebooting onto Drive #6.  It went through the starting download and subroutines and got me to the product key entry screen.  It wouldn't accept the product key I'd used on Drive #1 for some reason and I had to abort out of the installation program.  I've tried it 4or 5 times.  I've consulted Microsoft troubleshooter screens without finding anything which will straighten out the problem.
