Auto numbers not created when we qualify a lead into an opportunity RRS feed

  • Hi,

    We have a custom entity called Auto-Numbers with a record to a number field in Opportunity entity

     

    so when we create an opportunity, there is a number automatically populated into this field, and this works perfect. 

     But when we try to qualify  a lead into an opportunity, there is no number created in this field.

    Please can anyone help me what could be the problem? When we qualify a lead into an opportunity, can we say it create an opportunity? what is the difference between these two "Create"?

  • How is the field populated ? If it is using a plugin that is registered on the pre-validation event of the opportunity, then this would cause this behaviour. If that is the case, you should be able to resolve this using the pre-operation event instead - see http://mscrmuk.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/plugin-pre-stages-some-subtleties.html

  • Hi David,

    We tried to switch the option from pre validation to pre operation, but failed. Our system was upgraded from CRM 4.0 to 2011, is that the reason?
