  • Hey All,

    Client using Dynamics online is looking for a way to flag activities as "year end related".  This is really another field to filter on, and nothing crazy.  However, in saying that, I need to figure out how to implement this.  Now I figure I could just add a field to each of the activities themselves and then filter on them as required, but I am having a brain melt on how to best implement this within Outlook when users hit track and regarding using the Outlook client. 

    So there is the question.  How do I implement a way to "flag" and email in Outlook as "Year end related" and have that transfer to CRM?

  • There's no way to modify what happens when a user tracks an activity in Outlook - i.e. you cannot add any custom fields to be set in CRM during this process.

    I can't think of a good way to do this solely from Outlook. You might be able to add a custom button in Outlook that modifies one of the fields that does go to CRM (maybe add a suffix onto the subject), and have a plugin in CRM that picks this up and sets your field, but it feels a bit clunky
