    Hello - In the CRM Security Roles editor there's an alert bar at the top of the view that says "Inherited roles cannot be updated or modified."

    How can I tell if a Security Role is inherited?  Also, how  can I create a new Security Role that inherits an existing Security Role?

    Inherited security role here means that you are looking at the security role of a child business unit. This child business unit has inherited this security role from the parent Business unit. 

    To edit this role, open the role under the Parent Business unit.

    You cannot create a new security role that inherits from another security role. But you can use the Copy Role functionality to copy and existing security role to create a copy that you can then make edits to for your needs.
