/stdout with append mode? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!
I am running a big number of tests on a windows 2008 R2 HPC Server.

I need to append each output of the tests into one file.

Normally you pipe it like this:
    command >> output.txt

i am running my test with:
    job submit
    and a flag:
    /stdout:"out.txt"

but out.txt is overwritten on each new test.
I need to append, how to do it?

  • Ok i managed to find a solution for my problem

I have created a batch file called: test.bat
    mpiexec -cores 4 command >> out.txt
    mpiexec -cores 4 command1 >> out.txt
    mpiexec -cores 4 command2 >> out.txt
    mpiexec -cores 4 command3 >> out.txt
and now i submit the batch as the command for the job. It works. :)

My output also includes the number of cores used for the mpi-stuff, and it is not 4, but 4 per node. :)
So everything is like it should be.

But isnt there an option to append stdout by job command?

  • We don't offer an append option today, sorry!  You've found the right way to do it.

    Thanks,
