Invalid Copy of Windows 7 Ultimate.

Question
-
I purchased a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate from an online website called mircosota.biz. The price for the software was cheaper than almost every other place but not so much as to make you think that this was a scam. Was i lured in? Sure, the friendly yellow page dragged me to my purchase. Anyway I purchased windows 7 ultimate edition and it has been working fine for over six months. I have recently encountered a problem with a virus involving a program which hijacked my desktop and tried to get me to purchase a fraudulent "windows fix disk." This program was hiding all my desktop items and telling my my harddrive was corrupted. Anyways, this point is relevant in that after i "beat" the virus, my computer restarted and started installing this huge windows 7 update on my computer, which was like 30 items total. A few days later i turn on my computer and my computer is indicating it is an invalid copy again. It was doing this during the virus, so I am wondering if that is the culprit.
Here are the results from the little microsoft scanner:

Your Product ID line shows that you are using an MSDN product key. Since you are not the subscriber who was issued this product key, it is invalid for your use.
Windows Product ID: 00426-068-0231852-86017
The 068 is the MSDN indicator. The retail box and its contents is a counterfeit product. Many counterfeit copies are being sold on eBay and the Amazon Marketplace as well as various websites around the world. The product key is not a genuine retail PK. It is a genuine MSDN product key and so will activate and pass as genuine until it is blocked by Microsoft as an MSDN key in use by a nonsubscriber. It takes a while for MS to detect and complete processing of abused keys. The seller plans to be doing something else by then.
Pursue a refund for an item not as described immediately. Do not accept a replacement product key from the seller. It will be from the same source.

Buy a copy of Windows from a rock solid seller like the Microsoft Store or Amazon Corp (not an affiliate).

Thanks for the help. I submitted a piracy report on the online site. However i think i will just cut my losses, because asking a thief for money seems unattainable. Besides I read the information and Im sure they wouldn't accept any returns with their "30 day" policy, which that has long since expired. Time to move on, and buy a real copy.Saturday, April 16, 2011 1:09 AM
