trouble reactivating one care on third pc after o.s. reinstall RRS feed

    We had 3 pc's on my one care subscription for a couple of months without issues.  The third pc had it's own problems, not associated with one care, and we reinstalled the o.s. with the manufacturer operating system disk.  That installed ok but when we tried to put one care back on that computer we had problems.  My girlfriend downloaded one care and said it seemed to go right away to giving her a "trial version" without asking for a password.  We used the cleanup utility and re-downloaded it again.  While this was happening, I also went on my main pc and removed her from the "one care circle" figuring maybe it was already detecting the maximum number of pc's in the circle.  After that, we made sure we checked that we already have a live id and entered it.  It gave a error code of 80048265 and won't seem to go beyond that.  Searched the forums but can't find a answer.  Can you help?

  • I'm going to move this thread to the Install and Activate topic folder.

    When you reinstalled the OS and installed a fresh copy of OneCare, it is a trial copy until you activate it with the subscription LiveID.

    Removing that PC from the Circle from the Hub PC is optional, but a good idea if the PC name may be different after the OS reinstall, for example.

    Where you are currently at is a login issue for the LiveID, typically due to network settings.
