  • Firstly, Windows won't 'shut down' - it will merely go into 'notification mode' at the end of the grace period.

The installed Product Key is the default Key, which in theory can never be activated. However, your report shows that it is apparently activated.

This means that there must be a hacker's Activation exploit present.

For which version and edition of windows is the machine licensed, according to the COA sticker on the case (if there is one - I rather suspect that it will have only a Windows 8 sticker. If that's the case, is it for Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro?

  • Thank you for your reply, while i bought it from a shop.

They told me it is original Window 7 software, seem like i had been cheated. Sad

So the only solution is to install a new one ? And what will be happened during 'notification mode' ?

  • Please let us know the last 5 characters of the Product Key from your purchase (NOT the whole Key!), if your got a Windows 7 license separate from the computer.

What sort of MS sticker is on the machine? - a COA sticker, or the Windows 8 sticker?

Did you pay separately for the Windows 7?

  • Sad case is he dint give me the product key code.

There is no sticker at the bottom(neither COA sticker nor the Windows 8 sticker) , and he dint ask me to pay for Window 7, he voluntary "downgrade" Window 8 into Window 7 for me.

That time, i din't suspect anything, because I lacked of computer software's knowledge.

    Thank you .

  • If there is no COA sticker, and no Windows 8 sticker, then the machine is not licensed for Windows - you should demand a refund from the vendor - selling a machine 'with Windows installed' that doesn't have a legal windows license is fraud.

Check with Lenovo - their website should be able to tell you what OS the machine actually shipped with.
