Update the MetaDataStore of the Microsoft Sync Framework RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello guys,

maybe someone is able to help me.

I am using the Standard Sync Provider with the Metadata Storage Services and I want to update the Metadata Storage for single changes. So that after a new complete sync, it won't detect this changes again, because it should already be updated itself during a change.

So a test case could be:

    1. Sync two different repositories

    2. create the missing items on both sides

    3. repositories are identical

    4. delete an item on one site

    5. automatically update the metadata store and the other repository including it's metadata store

    6. repositories are identical

    7. sync both repositories

    8. no difference has been detected

    9. repositories are still equal

And in this process I am not able to do the fifth step. I am able to change the replica metadata with single changes as but the sync framework detects the change another time anyhow and wants to do it again. So actually you can say, that I just want to do a sync with one item and not always check the whole repository.

So maybe there is someone who knows how I can update the metadata store for not detecting the change again. Do I have to do something with the knowledge?

  • I already solved it by myself!

--> The answer is to combine both knowledges and store them on each side.
