CRM 4 Data Migration Manager error - csv delimiter? headers not matching columns? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've got to this point I have a fully functioning mapping, it migrates the data but keep throwing this error that the number of headers do not match the number of columns. than it always start from row #17. after go all the way through it migrates about 15 records. If I look the csv, it looks normal. if I chop the top 17 and try again, it repeats the pattern. will migrate new 15 records and bomb. its like there is some encoding or delimiter that bombs the migration or the DMM can take up to a certain amount.

is there a way to save excel and request to add quotes or double quotes as column delimiter?

could that be crm/Dmm version conflict?

  • Hi,

If I remember correctly comma is the only allowed delimiter in CRM 4.0. If you open the csv in excel and set delimter to comma, how do the columns look? Same thing, open it in notepad and have a quick look, I know it's tough to see what's wrong.

Another thing I would try is to import, say 30 rows with just two "simple" columns without any spaces or similar things, then add columns and see where it breaks.

    Regards
