So far, three things that have me shocked that they are not implemented.

Question

1. Am I missing something, or can you not preview your posts using Windows Live Writer?
I know you see almost all of the content like the font, but you can't actually see how it will look, or see how the videos and pictures will look.
2. Is it also just me, or can you not change font size without going to "Format>>Font"?
3. You seem to have a different theme engine as you can not have a black theme as you can in Windows Live Mail, etc.
Other than that, things are really nice looking.Thursday, October 2, 2008 3:35 AM

To preview try hitting F12, if that doesn't show you more then try going to View->Refresh Theme. Sometimes on first run if a Blog provider has some caching going on our detection can get fooled and we don't get a complete snapshot of your blog. Usually if you refresh your theme you should be able to get the preview working correctly again.
As for font and other users actions we are always looking for ways to improve these experiances.

Hi PocketPcUser,Thanks for the feedback. In the past we intentionally made it very difficult to access the font dialog, and it was only with a lot of internal debate that we even put the Font button on the toolbar. The reason is that we'd really rather you use the "Paragraph" drop-down on the editing toolbar and choose one of the pre-defined HTML heading styles if what you're doing is introducing a heading (which seems to be the common case). This makes it easier for search engines, visually impaired users, and phones (non-smartphones) to understand the content better. This is not as important in Word and not important at all in Windows Live Mail, but it matters a great deal to us because the content we create goes onto the web. Web developers used to hate on early versions of FrontPage because the HTML it generated made the web worse--we don't want to make the same mistake.Hope that helps clear things up a bit...

Also, in the latest build of Writer (14.00.5025.0904), you should be able to access Font from the Writer Toolbar. You can get the latest build of Writer from: http://download.live.com/Tuesday, October 7, 2008 7:20 PM

Yes, however, that is really not helpful. I would expect to see Office 2007 techniques to change fonts, not Word 2002 and earlier. Being able to change the font in that method, is really going backwards, not forwards when you look at other Microsoft products, and even Windows Live Mail. So, that is surprising to me, that it was not implemented better.Tuesday, October 7, 2008 7:40 PM

Hey,
Thanks a lot for your relpy.
Actually, I think it cleared a lot up, and I understand completely.
BTW, where is the other forums? The only forum I see under Windows Live is the Writer Beta.
Thanks again,
