WLW and TypePad RRS feed

  • Question

  • WLW doesn't recognize several of my TypePad blogs, which started shortly after TypePad upgraded my interface. I think it has something to do with shared passwords; I have one main blog and several sub-blogs under the same account name. The main blog works, and the sub-blogs don't.

  • Hi Jeff, what errors do you get when trying to configure the sub-blogs?

  • Jeff,

Thanks for using Writer and sorry that you're having problems getting it work with your Typepad blogs.

Which version of Writer are you using (you can find in this in the Help | About dialog)?  If the version number is lower than 14.0.5025.904, try upgrading to the latest version at http://download.live.com/writer.

If you are already using the latest version, try going to Tools | Accounts, then select the account you're having problems with and click the Edit... button.  A new dialog will come up and there will be a button called Update Account Configuration...

Try using this button to reconfigure your account and see if it works as before.
If not, please send your log file to becky.pezely@microsoft.com.  You can find your log file by going to the Help | About dialog and clicking the log file link.

  • Not sure this is the same problem, but I was getting this error when trying to setup my TypePad account:

"The weblog account could not be accessed using the specified username and password."

And finally figured out that the username field in the Weblog Homepage and Login screen was case sensitive. I had to enter my name all lower case "john". This threw me off as it's case insensitive when I log into Typepad directly where I usually enter "John".
