Panoramma is too narrow RRS feed

  • Question

  • why is it that when ms ice stitches together my photos, instead of the panoramma taking up most of the display screen it is not even one inch high?  It's much longer than it is high.  Can you give any suggestions on what would be causing this?  I'm using a plain point and shoot kodak digital camera c195 on Windows 7.  The image should be filling up the window, but it's not. When I try to dictate how high I want the panoramma to be, ms ice automatically readjusts the width of the panoramma instead of leaving it with the dimmensions that I typed in.  Is there a way to turn that feature off?  Because of this, the end result that I get is a panoramma that does not fill up the entire screen.

    It should look like this:

    But instead I get this:

Thanks for any suggestions you may have. :)

  • ICE is going to maintain the aspect ratio of the image. If you just scaled vertically but didn't adjust the horizontal dimension then the scene wouldn't look correct.

Was the first link generated using the same camera?  My guess is that it wasn't.  I'm not familair with the viewing plug-in that you are using on that web site.  It seems though, that this plug-in expects the panorama to have a certain vertical field-of-view and the camera you are using doesn't have a wide enough lens to accomodate this.  My suggestion is to rotate your camera when you capture your images - that is capture your images in portrait mode instead of landscape.
