Windows Vista Vlidation Error RRS feed

  • I tried to Download the 940105 package for my system because I was hitting the 2GB limit. And when it got to the windows validation screen, I got hit with this error


    You have encountered an unknown error. Please contact your local product support team for further assistance with this issue.

    My windows is genuine, came with the tech guys upgrade disk. My vista says Genuine on system porperties page. I have run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool and when I click continue it give me the following error message
    C:\Windows\system32\slcext.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program using the original installation media or contanct your system administrator for support.
    It then runs and this is the code I get

      Your copy of Vista is, indeed, Genuine. What I believe is happening is you may not have your system setting set up to allow activation to process correctly. To confirm the setting are correct, I suggest going to http://microsoft.com/genuine/diag and click the 'Start Diagnostic' and if anything mis-configurations are found, click the 'Resolve Now' button and the site should provide directions on how to solve the problem.
