Can you install drivers on whs through connector? RRS feed

  • Question

  • So im having an issue where my WHS will not transfer at gigabit speeds, I have installed a 10/100/1000 card but i never installed the drivers because device manager automatically installed the device. Is there a way to install drivers through connector or can I install remote desktop remotely. Any ideas? I just moved the server to a really inconvient place as far as monitors to attach goes. Please make my life easier.

    Thx in advance

You cannot install drivers through the Connector. You need to RDP into the server and install the drivers using the Administrator's desktop.

    To RDP

    1. Start>mstsc.exe
    2. Enter the name of your server
    3. Enter "Administrator" and your Windows Home Server password

You will have to have copied the drivers to a share like \\<servername>\public so you can access them once you are on the desktop.

From here, you can install the drivers.
