Live Mesh stops connecting

Question
-
I have been running Mesh for somewhat over a week with absolutely great results.
I have a simple set up [while testing the product]. I have my home computer connected with two folders set to sync. I also have my work computer set up identically.
This has worked for almost two weeks. Today it does not. The work computer is fine. The home computer will not connect. The message is "not connected - check network connection". I can get to any website [including my live desk]. I have restarted machine to no avail.
The theory behind MESH is great. My experience to this point is great. But now I need some advice.

Update: Following advice of a poster, I did a repair of MESH. This did not complete and left it half installed etc. I then did an uninstall from control panel then a reinstall. As of now the synch is working. I will watch it for furthe issues.
Still need to know why it stopped connecting.

Hi Robert,
Would you mind collecting your Live Mesh logs from the problematic computer and emailing them to lmprev@microsoft.com? Or, if you prefer, you can submit a bug report through Connect. To collect your logs, go to Start Menu > All Programs > Live Mesh > Collect Live Mesh Logs, which will generate a .cab file on your desktop.
Thanks,

I have read some ideas that I will try tonight. If no luck, I will collect the logs and submit them. Either way I will let you know.

OK here is current situation. The update seemed to work however with a few bumps. I now get the message that Mesh (beta) failed to start click here to restart.
I have done this several times. I have stopped and restarted. I have rebooted. It juest will not start on this machine.

Just sent it.
The log is quite large. Is there come way to delete older entries?

Yep :)
C:\Users\<login name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Live Mesh\GacBase
You'll see a number of Moe-computername-username-date/time.log files
You can safely delete anything before 10/28 that are there to reclaim some space and it reduces the cab size.Friday, October 31, 2008 2:42 AM -
Thanks for this information. Hope you have a solution for my install on home workstation. As I have said before, it worked fine for a week and then stopped connecting. I had hope that the new version would correct that. So far it hasn't.

Does Mesh depend on a particular IP address?

Hi,
I have a similar problem. I have three home machines running vista with mesh installed and have been able to connect to them from a work machine using the mesh web page desktop. Two of the home machines have been updated with the 30th update and I now cant connect to either of them remotely. The third hasnt been updated and connects fine. Could this be a problem with yesterdays update? (I've submitted a feedback response on the issue).

Robert, we're looking at your logs and should have an answer shortly on what's gone wrong with your system.
Adgibs, you should be able to remote now. We had some interesting server issues yesterday that was preventing this from working correctly that should all be resolved now. If you are still seeing problems with regards to remote connections please let us know.
Thanks!

Hi Ken,
Still no luck remoting in from work with the beta. (The tech preview worked fine). Could it be a firewall issue?

Hi Andrew,
Are all of your computers running the same version of Live Mesh? If so, please feel free to post your Connect Feedback ID here so that I can look into this for you.
Thanks,

Ben;
Any luck in determining why my system stopped connecting.

Hi Robert,
Are you still experiencing this problem? In conversation with my colleagues who were looking at your logs last week, this should have been resolved. If you're continuing to see the same issue, would you mind collecting a fresh set of logs and sending them to us? We'll continue to investigate.
Thanks,

Ben - The same issues are still there. I do not know why they thought it was corrected. It will be late this evening or tomorrow before I can get to that machine to send logs.
Recap: MESH worked on that machine for two weeks. Then started giving message "could not connect". After upgrade on the 30th, the message changed to "failed to start" followed by "live mesh starting".
Thanks for any help getting this thing going. The idea is great but for it to be useful it must work.
