Windows 7 suddenly "not genuine" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey everybody. I turned my laptop off for a few weeks, because I got a replacement, and when I turned it back on, I got a bunch of not genuine messages. Now I can't do updates or anything. I put my personal word on the genuineness of my copy of Windows. Here's the particular error info. What do I do?

I am my system administrator. I can follow directions well. What needs to be done?

If you’re using a KMS License, you are NOT the Administrator, unless you also run the KMS server and 25 other PC’s.

KMS Licenses are Volume  Upgrades – and are not generally available to the public.

For what version and edition of Windows is the PC licensed, according to the COA sticker on the case – and how did you acquire this copy of Windows 7?

You have a kms license. Your computer must connect to your kms server every 180 days for activation

See your system administrator for assistance.

  • From whom did you acquire your copy of Windows 7 Enterprise edition from?  This is a "Volume License" and only sold to business enterprises.
