suggestion re 2 step verification RRS feed

  • Question

  • I use 2 step verification to keep passwords as secure as possible, but I don't want to use 2 step verification every time I sign in.  What I do want is to use 2 step verification when I change my microsoft live password.  I'm glad I get an email after the fact but is is not the same.

If I change my email password, 2 step verification is used. If I change my live account password, there is no 2 step verification.  If someone was able to change my live password, they could turn off 2 step verification and get to my email.

    bottom line for the suggestion:

for my Microsoft Live account, separate the functionality for 2 step verification into "use 2 step to change password" and "use 2 step to sign in" (or change any security setting).

thanks.  btw, it is not easy to find how to make suggestions to Microsoft.
