OCS 2007 R2 and SIP trunk with ITSP RRS feed

  • Question

  • Anyone setup a SIP trunk to an ITSP yet?  I can't find anywhere to do it in R2 as advertised.  I still have the SIP trunk terminating on a Cisco ISR which I'd like to take out of the loop and terminate the trunk directly to a mediation server.

  • Yes, it works great.  On the properties of the Mediation server just go to the next hop tab and enter the IP address or FQDN of your ITSP.  Right now there are only a small number of officially tested and supported SIP trunk providers (see here for more info) but it's been found to work with other ITSPs who support TCP SIP connections.

posted the info to connect to Global Crossing a while back.  It may be helpful when you are speaking to your ITSP.  Please post your results, especially if you get it to work with a new provider.

  • Thanks for the info.  I think we have to keep ours on the router since we need to provide a username and password and it doesn't appear OCS supports it yet.

BTW, saw on one if the threads your company is offering a SIP phone solution for OCS. I'm definitely curious to see that.  Any ETA on a release date?

  • You mean Snom OCS edition? You can already get that even though it's still in beta testing.

  • We are targeting a beta later this month and a full release next month.

This is different than Snom.  Snom allows you to use their phones with OCS.  Our product will allow you to use any SIP phone with OCS as well as any ITSP.
