Local LAN share only? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Okay, time for my next probably blatantly obvious question: Is there a way to hide a share from web access, but still have it visible to the local machines on the same LAN?  I have a folder that I want two users to have access to as a regular Windows share if they are on the local LAN, but don't want to have it accessible to them when they are logged in via web access.

Is this possible?  I thought for sure I had something like this in WHS v1.

  • No, it's Remote Access or not, with the same access level as per Shared Folders.

  • Thanks Phillip.

Bummer.  Need to add this to the wishlist for a SP or next version.
