  • I selected to sync a folder on my office PC and same folder on my Home PC -   I then set up the options not to sync to the Remote desktop  , only back and forth to my home and office PC's.-  as I am assuming that is not necessary to sync to the remote desktop. So I then thought with both folders set to sync back and forth to each other - if I add a file to my office folder - it will then appear on my home folder (the folder that is synced)..  But instead (at last so far) that new file has  not appeared but the icon on my system tray has been working hard  adding various file, which has me confused as both folders where basically up to date, same on each PC, when I started and installed Live Mesh.

So have I overlooked or misunderstood some part of the process ?

    any hep would be appreciated.

  • Nice to see someone else from one of the more remote areas of the world ;)

When merging two existing folders through the mesh it can sometimes take Live Mesh a while to properly work out which files need to be synced from which computer and what has changed between the two, in order to bring the two folders to a state where both have the same contents. Even when the contents look identical they can be subtly different, a good example would be media files whose headers are changed to reflect "last accessed time" every time they are opened.

If it doesn't finish syncing a couple of hours down the line you should collect your logs and submit a bug via Connect. To collect your logs, do the following:

    1.  Click Start.
    2.  Select All Programs and then the Live Mesh folder.
    3.  Click
    Collect Live Mesh Logs.
    4.  Your logs will be bundled together in a .cab file now located on your desktop.

Further details and information on submitting bugs can be found on the front page of the forum, on on Connect itself.

    Good Luck!
