  • Hi,

normally you'll find all the information about MCTS certifications in the first link mentioned above. The MTA certifications are entry exams which were mainly focused on students in the past. If you're a developer you should have a look at the MCPD or MSCD certification tracks. As an IT-Pro the MCSE and MCSA certification tracks should fit your needs.

  • Hi,

MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist) is certification that you will achieve if you pass an exam for a Microsoft product/solution.

The MCTS certification is currently being replaced by the new MTA and MCSA certification.

    MTA: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/mta-certification.aspx#fbid=nTemxTEp9eN

    MSCA:http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/mcsa-certification.aspx#fbid=nTemxTEp9eN

The MTA and MCSA certification both require passing on or more exams.

You can learn for the exam by following a training a Microsoft learning center or by self-study. For self-study Microsoft has Microsoft Press self-paced study  books for the exams or you can purchase a video recording training from CBT Nuggets or Trainsignal. You can purchase official test exams from Measureup.
