calculating in ms-dos (packed with windows 95) RRS feed

  • Question

  • hello,

i have the problem that on the version of ms-dos that i have (on windows 95) i can't use the command set /a to that you need to make calculations, my question is if there is another way to calculate in the ms-dos version packed with windows 95?(sorry if i posted this in the wrong thread)
i included a link to a photo of my screen. when i type "set /?" it does not say that i can use expressions or even numbers. it is in dutch the translation is:

View, set, or delete Windows environment variables.

    SET [variable = [string]]

    variable The environment variable.

string A string to assign to the variable.

SET without parameters shows the current environment variables.

  • Hi Jannick.

This question should be asked in the Microsoft Community for Windows, which is more appropriate for this kind of topics.
As far as I can remember, the version of MS-DOS included within Windows 95 should be 7.0; if you run the ver command from within a Windows 95 command prompt it will report 4.00 (the build number varies according to the Windows 95 version).
