       hi all is there any way of changing the backup dir to a external HD??/

    No, there is no way to control what specific drive Windows Home Server uses for storing the backup database. You can back up the server shares to an external drive using functionality added in Power Pack 1, however.
    I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
