[MSN Money] Update shareholding data RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to change a share holding from 0 to a positive number.

O go to the Transactions screen and enter the data.

Your 'help' says I should then hit the 'SAVE' button but I cannot find a Save button anywhere on the Transactions screen.

    Help ?

  • Um, maybe "Enter"?  What version of Microsoft Money are you using?  Or are you maybe using the MSN Money web site?

  • Thanks Bill but I can only plead the ageing process.

When I click on 'buy' then enter the number of shares a 'Save' icon magically appears and my holding updates. Duh.

However, for some shares this fails to work and the holding remains at zero. I will probably find out what I am doing wrong if I pay a little more attention.

    Thanks for trying to help.

ps diff between Microsoft Money and MSN Money ? Which should I be using ?

  • Yes, I managed to update all of the holdings.

It seems to prefer 'enter' then 'save'.

  • I believe that you are using the MSN Money web site.  It has a "SAVE" button.

This forum is for the Microsoft Money program.  It's entirely different.  It's a total financial management package that allows one to track and manage checking accounts, savings accounts, bills, paychecks etc. in addition to investments.  It is, however, no longer supported by Microsoft, so this forum is run by fellow users to help fellow users.

Most people who frequent this forum don't use MSN Money so they aren't much help with MSN Money problems.  Glad to hear that you managed to figure out how to get it working.
