User with Administrator role in HPC over ride admins on compute nodes RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have HPC 2008 R2 setup with head node and compute nodes. We have issue where local administarors (under computer managment->Groups) on Compute nodes is getting over wriiten by users defined as Admin on HPC. This is issue because if we would like to add compute node on which some other id need to be admin along with id's defined in HPC as it get removed after few minutes since its not defined as Admin in HPC. We do not want to define it as admin in HPc as it will add it to all the compute nodes which we do not want.
I would like to know is there anyway to turn off this feature so users under admins do not get over written while keeping the HPC functionality intact.

  • I would suggest the Unmanaged Sever Role instead of Compute Node Role if you would like the local Administrators or Users group on the nodes not to be populated by that on the head node.
