Looking for an example of how to setup CRM for a Service Based Industry

Question
-
My company has CRM 2011 Rollup 2. We have it installed and we are using it for the post-sales processes; basically custom support. (We did this because the sales process wasn't well defined when we decided to go with CRM.) We now need to rollout the sales process. I have seen a few examples online but they are product based companies. I am looking for an example of a service based company and how to setup the sales process. The Products, Price Lists, Discounts, etc.
Any help is appreciated.

It depends what you are trying to do?
you can create services as products.
or you can use service activities.
setup a services, add service groups etc.

Here is a great diagram that shows the order of what you need to create.

My company sells their services 2 ways.
- First is a flat rate. In this case a client pre-pays for accounts. The client buys a minimum of 25 accounts. Each time an account is submitted, the client's number of accounts are reduced.
- Second is a percentage rate. In this case any number of accounts are submitted and we charge the client a percent of what money we save them.
We already have a completely seperate application for clients to submit and manage their account they give us. We also already have CRM setup to manage the seperate application our clients use. What I am now working on is trying to set up a sales process. Specifically I am trying to figure out how to setup the Product catalog, Price Lists, Discount Lists and Unit Groups.
