Multiple crashed computers

  In my circle 2 out of three computers has had to have the motherboard and or hard drive replaced due to various issues. I now have all three back up and running and need to restore them but OC does not recognize the back-ups. How do I restore them. My laptop is the most important.  The only one to not need repair is running XP the other two have Vista Home Premium. Hardware failures not vista related.
