Power Pack 2 Will not install from Windows Update

Question

Hi,
I have searched the forum looking for the answer but I only found this post..
http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/whsfaq/thread/621c38db-c788-488f-8265-1be1bcf368dc
I have checked my settings>resources and they are listed as
Windows Home Server Console: 6.0.1800.0
Windows Home Server Backup & Restore: 6.0.1800.0
Windows Home Server Drive Extender: 6.0.1800.0
Windows Home Server Remote Access: 6.0.1800.0
Windows Home Server Storage Manager: 6.0.1800.0
It was a fresh install yesterday with WHS .iso from MSDN which included Power Pack 1.
All other windows updates have installed fine and windows is activated but without WHS setup run so that I can create an image for deployment.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

No, Power Pack 2 definitely doesn't install if Windows Home Server's OOBE (starting with the welcome screen) hasn't been finished.
As for OEMs, I'm sure that slipstreamed media with Power Pack 2 is either already available, or soon will be available, in the partner channel. It may never make it to MSDN or TechNet, though, because both of those tools are designed to let subscribers access microsoft software for use in a lab or development environment; sysprepping a disk is not something that you will do in most lab environments.

I don't believe that Power Pack 2 will install without having run Windows Home Server setup. I'll confirm this, but it will take me some time.

Thanks for the update Ken.
Seems a little strange, especially for OEM's that want to create images for mass deployment (pre setup).
I have proposed the question to our Microsoft Account Manager & Tech support.
They are going to pass it onto the WHS team.
When I recieve a reply I will post it here.
Many thanks.Tuesday, April 14, 2009 11:50 AM -
Uninstall PP1 problems!
Ok! It seems that I have a beta version of PP1. How do I do now to uninstall PP1 manually either via the WHS Console or Remote access into my network.
I can not find PP1 application in "Remove programs" in(Remote access)

Place a check in the box next to Show Updates in the Add or Remove Programs Control Panel applet.

Ken,
Thanks for the update.
Our account manager (tech side) has escalated this internally at MS and is looking into a work around.
Will update when I get more news.
