How should I manage system backups when using Onecare? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need an effective method to prepare for a C-Drive failure - like a backup image to use on a new C-Drive.  What are the requirements for a product if I want it to be compatible with Onecare?

  • You can use pretty much any backup software that you wish that makes full drive/partition image backups. In fact, you can probably disable the OneCare backups unless you wish to have a secondary backup option for just your data.

One that I've used in the past is Acronis True Image.

  • And, I'll clarify that I no longer use Acronis True Image because I have a Windows Home Server which is a fantastic option for managing backups for multiple PCs in a household.
