You appear not to have Activated the machine at all - are you experiencing problems doing so? If so, what problems? It appears to be an installation of a Retail copy of XP on a Self-build or small store-built computer. The Key appears to be genuine from what I can tellThere is no good reason it should not activate properly if that is the case, unless you have previously activated that copy of Windows on another computer - in which case, you will need to use telephone activation.HTH

I have tried the telephone activation which tells me that it cannot validate my code & refers me to the anti piracy web site. As it is only on my machine & is a legal copy I can not fathom out why it has all of a sudden decided to do this. Help would be greatfully appreciated as trying to contact someone within MS seems to be impossible. Cheers LarryMonday, July 5, 2010 1:42 PM

Hello Larryf666,
Do another Telephone activation, but this time do not input anything or say anything into the system. This is supposed to shunt you to a live activation specialist. Call during normal business hours for your region.
