    Hi
    Shutting down my WHS server when I am at work or sleeping seems to me as a suitable way to save energy. I have read about a couple of programs doing this, but at least one of them seems not to be complety free of problems (loosing backups). I should say seems,,, because among all posting, I have had problems sorting out latest status.

    So my question is,, what alternatives do I have ??  and what quality is it on those alterantives. Free or comercial really does't care to mee,,,, thu I am hoping to save some money.

    The only add-ins I'm aware of that provide that functionality are Lights Out, and ASoft AutoExit. However, when your server is shut down (whether manually powered off by the owner or automatically by an add-in like this) it won't be able to perform any of it's usual tasks: backing up home PCs, serving files through the shares, allowing remote access to files and home computers, etc.
    I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
