DLNA Support, I can haz it? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am going to be adding a PlayStation 3 to my stable to technology and I was wondering if my Windows Home Server has native support for DLNA?  From what I can tell the connection between my XBOX360 and my WHS uses a proprietary Microsoft protocol, but there is no way to let other devices use my media on the server unless they can support CIFS.

  • Thanks for all your suggestions. I added the PS3 to my network and it just magically worked.  Hooray!

  • If you have HP mediasmart or other OEM server it will likely have DLNA compliant mediaserver installed. If not best thing would probably be to get Twonky Mediaserver Add-in. Alternatively you can try and install WMP11, however this will be unsupported, also not sure if this legal.
