Occasional error 500 pages or "Unexpected error" or a blank message box is normal at the Microsoft forums. They are probably caused by the back-end, it is not very stable. Reporting the web server name doesn't help, it is not the classic thrashing web server problem we've been experiencing over the past two months.
That said, there's been an uptick in the frequency of those intermittent errors this week. I ended up posting the same post more than once several times. I don't know any way to diagnose these kind of errors, you can't see the back-end from the HTTP headers and the error messages are useless. Hopefully they are getting logged somewhere, I doubt it.
Only report a thrashing server problem when you get at least 3 errors from the same server within an hour.

Would 2 error 500's on a given post generally be enough? I don't fire up Fiddler full time (don't have a real reason to do so).. However, when I DO get one, I usually start it up immediately (just in case it happens again...) If it doesn't repeat, then I don't generally post anything.
