What is SUS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am a IT Tech and have some questions regarding SUS. From my understanding this is Software Update Service, and what it does is download windows updates to be deployed to workstations. I new to this company, and discovering that this has been set up on the main server, but never set up on client computers. There is a total of 4 computers to update on the domain, and to me there is no reason why each station cannot do its own updates. I want to remove this from the server and the 43GB's of updates stored on the server, but I do not want to damage anything by just deleting files. I have disabled the "Software Update Service Synchronization" service in the services. msc and have had not complainants. My next step is to delete the file on the Drive (marked SUS) which contains 43 GB is updates, but I want to make sure there is something I must do first, before just deleting the file. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
