Communicator R2 & OCS 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

In our test enviroment Communicator R2 works on an OCS 2007 pool. However, we looked at the release notes for Communicator R2 and we found this incompatibilty:

Issue:   Office Communicator 2007 R2 users who are logged on to an Office Communications Server 2007 computer observe incorrect behavior during incoming calls. For example, clicking "answer call" on the incoming call system alert does not result in an audio conversation, the user gets disabled call control regions, and the call is disconnected after some time.

Resolution:   Do not use Office Communicator 2007 R2 with Office Communications Server 2007

Is this referring to a P2P audio (communicator) call or a PBX (telephone) call?

  • Basically MOC R2 users must be homed on OCS 2007 R2 pools (Standard or Enterprise edition) in order to function properly using the core services such as IM, P2P voice, etc.. Enterprise Voice (VoIP) comes only in the picture when you have connected and properly configured the OCS infrastructure to your IP/PBX system.

Hope this helps. Do let us know. Thanks.
