  • Hello Sharad_SNPS,

So the problem is that on a enabled touch screen your app will hang. Can you check whether you can find any logs from event view logs?

    Best regards,

    Barry

  • @Sharad,

To know details. I can only think about using dump file https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/debugger/2009/12/30/what-is-a-dump-and-how-do-i-create-one/ However analyze dump file is out of the forum scope. You may try analyze it first, and if you need further help you can submit a support ticket.

To guess the reason I think you can check whether there are differences between two devices, for example, driver,OS Build version number.

    Best regards,

    Barry

  • This is in continuation to the last information regarding the hang observed in an MFC application when run on Windows 10 machines with touch screen enabled.

The MFC application having hang issues when Human Interface Device (such as touch screen) are enabled, was developed using Visual Studio 6.0 and has been ported to Visual Studio 2015 (Update 2).

The MFC application was initially developed as a 32-bit application and later the code was ported to support 64-bit platforms.

Also, this MFC application supports automation (which means that the functionalities in the application can be called using scripting languages e.g. VB Scripts). (The exposed functions are part of ODL file).

The initial level of R&D on a windows 10 machine shows following observations:

    A)      Disabling Human Interface Devices such as touch screen (using Device Manager), solves the hang issue in MFC application.

    B)      If the “UIAutomationCore.dll” in system32 folder is replaced with Windows 7 version, then the MFC application works without hang even with touch screen enabled on this machine.

    C)      Since the MFC application is an manifest (setup-less ) application, placing the Windows 7 “UIAutomationCore.dll” file in the application folder, does not solve the hang issue.

Any help in solving this hang issue will be of great help.
