Windows Product ID: 00426-067-9433522-86960
The product ID -067- Indicates a not for resale MSDN account. If you are not the account holder and you purchased this in a retail box, the box and it's contents are counterfeit.

My Hubby brought the window 7 from Ebay and it is exactly the same as the fake one in the video! same labels and sticker as in the video!. I also notice the booklet inside where the phone numbers to call the help desk was all blurry and thought that was a little strange, when I first saw it, I should have checked it out then but I looked at the sticker and thought with the holograms it was real, now I know how to check. That video was a huge help microsoft should have a video showing the fakes ones and the real ones and the fake ones look very real!
This prompted me to check another program we brought, We also brought a microsoft office 2010 from ebay too completly different seller and that also has the made in USA sticker and the sticker on the disc too so I guess I have to assume that it too is also a fake. BUGGER!
Now what can I do?
Ebay should maybe have a checking/warning system so innocent customers who think they are getting a genuine product understand how to check straight away when they recieve the product and can complain and get a refund back, especially if the seller takes a while to post he product out. There is only a 45 day policy so we are unable to do anything now.

You can file a piracy report with microsoft.
http://www.microsoft.com/piracy/reporting/default.aspx
Now that you mentioned office, I reread your report and your office is also invalid. I went right by that the first time.
Office Status: 114 Blocked VLK 2
Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage - 114 Blocked VLK 2Ebay has never been helpful with counterfeit products. They have always maintained they are only a vehicle for putting buyers and sellers together. There are many sellers of counterfeit goods on ebay and they include anything that can be counterfeited, not just software.
Monday, May 9, 2011 2:12 AMAnswerer -
Complain anyway. It's necessary to give eBay a basis for challenging a seller.
eBay is not in the business of casting doubt on a seller's integrity without good cause. To do so risks litigation. The only answer is not to purchase licensed software like Office, Windows, Creative Studio, and others from anyone but the manufacturer's website or a solid reseller like Amazon Corp. or other well respected company. Don't try to find a bargain for these products. Find the best price that is from a company you trust.

No - in all probability it'll simply be another stolen or fraudulent Key.

Of course not. Who believes that sellers have a bank of legitimate retail keys to draw from? Microsoft requires that retail product keys accompany the software. So does anybody think a seller can rip open a retail box he paid money for just to give the customer a new key? It will be another MSDN key from a subscription purchased fraudulently.

Per the message in this thread. After working without rouble since March, I see the message "This copy of Windows is not genuine." This copy was obtained through my university as part of the MSDN program. I have no reason to believe that that it is anything but genuine.

Per announcement 2 above,
Most Non-Genuine issue look the same regardless of the true underlying cause. So to help minimize the confusion caused by troubleshooting multiple different issues, we ask that all users creat their own thread for thier own specific issue.
In other words, please do not post "Me Too" messages in other people's threads.
Thank you,

Hi Colin: Thanks for the response. Looking at your May 09, 2011 12:03 AM post, it seemed that you were asking us to post "a reply message to this thread." I guess I am confused.
I also started my own thread at http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinevista/thread/f3352b03-7327-4733-a13a-e0d28dcd6015
Is this what you intended?
Saturday, May 14, 2011 5:05 PM -
Yes. Always use the Ask A Question button rather than attaching your own question to another poster's thread. Replies are intended to be to the original poster's question as an answer or further comment. Similarity of issues is not a reason to piggyback on a thread. You did just what announcement 2 requires and someone will address your report in the new thread.

Please repost your report in your OWN NEW thread - this avoids confusion for all.Having said that, your installation of Windows is based on a Blocked MSDN Key.

The next thing you should do is observe the announcements at the top of this forum page and post your issue to a new thread by using the Ask a Question link at the top. As the announcement says,
Most Non-Genuine issue look the same regardless of the true underlying cause. So to help minimize the confusion caused by troubleshooting multiple different issues, we ask that all users creat their own thread for thier own specific issue.
In other words, please do not post "Me Too" messages in other people's threads.
Having said that, your copy of Windows is a counterfeit copy.Your Product ID line shows that you are using an MSDN product key. Unless you are the subscriber who was issued this product key, it is invalid for your use.
Windows Product ID: 00359-232-4984197-86384
The 232 is the MSDN indicator. If you purchased a retail box the entire box and its contents is a counterfeit product. Many counterfeit copies are being sold on eBay and the Amazon Marketplace as well as various websites around the world. The product key is not a genuine retail PK. It is a genuine MSDN product key and so will activate and pass as genuine until it is blocked by Microsoft as an MSDN key in use by a nonsubscriber. It takes a while for MS to detect and complete processing of abused keys. The seller plans to be doing something else by then.
Pursue a refund for an item not as described immediately. Do not accept a replacement product key from the seller. It will be from the same source.
Report the incident to Microsoft at
http://www.microsoft.com/howtotell/reports/report.aspx
To see how good these knock-offs are becoming, see
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzqNNiOM0cs
Buy a copy of Windows from a rock solid seller like the Microsoft Store or Amazon Corp (not an affiliate).
If you have further questions, please post in your own thread.
