  • Question

  • Hi

I purchased Office online and all was good to start with.  A week or so later I tried to get an update from microsoft.com and it said the software was not genuine.  I got an update previously and it didn't tell me this.

I've run the MGAD and got the following.

Please help me sort this out!

If it isn't genuine I want to make sure the company does not continue doing this.  Funnily enough, they have not responded to amy of my emails.

  • Hi Dee,

You may also be eligible for a complimentary copy of Office from Microsoft.

    1) Validate Office here:  http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/office/Validate.aspx?displaylang=en&sGuid=233a30f6-759f-4d64-a263-4d2cdb9e24d7

    2)  From the validation failure page, there are options available for getting genuine.  One of the options is to submit a counterfeit report.  Certain circumstances qualify for this free offer.  Please review the criteria and see if you qualify.

I am very sorry that you were taken advantage of.  Please do report this piracy to Microsoft and the anti-pircy team does follow up.  This will help prevent this from happening to others in the future.

Thank you again for taking time to post in our forum.

    Thanks,
    Michelle
